Devotion for Today

Today I read a devotion that really spoke to me in my slowed down condition...which brings much frustration some days...

Large streams from little fountains flow..David Everett

Somewhere nearby, no matter where we are, runs a creek. We have seen plenty of them, narrow and rocky. In summer, it’s hardly a creek at all, but in the spring, it leads to a mighty river.

Each of us like that creek, a trickle contributing to some greater plan.  Sometimes we feel dried up, contributing nothing.  Often we feel small, rocky not up to the task -when we can understand what the task is.

Sometimes the task seems too simple-get up each morning, love and work and live the day as honestly as we can. What kind of contribution is that?  Sometimes it seems too complicated. How much more we could contribute if we could see the whole river-where it begins and ends-if we knew what would happen tomorrow.

So we ebb and flow. And in our moments of contentment, we know we are doing our best we can each day

What contribution, no matter how small, can I contribute to the world today????
I am thinking of at least three!!

CMV Chatter

I was diagnosed with CMV in January of 2012 with Dr. Martin Lerner affiliated with Beaumont Hospital i Detroit, Michigan. I have been dealing with this virus since June of 2011 and am so thankful for his diagnosis and course of treatment for me. I am slowly improving on a regimen of rest, no exercise, healthy eating and taking Valcyte daily which is an antiviral to fight the CMV virus that has taken over my life. I ran my first 5k a year ago April and to think that I am unable to do any exercise today is so mind boggling. I am at the point where I really need some support and also want to support others in their quest for good health. I would like to post uplifting thoughts, pictures, scripture and things to generally make us feel positive despite feeling tired and sore. So let me hear from you and we can become a community of CMV chatterers! Julie

Living With CMV

I was diagnosed with CMV on January 8 th at Dr. Martin Lerners office in Beverly Hills Michigan. He is an Internist affiliated with Beaumont Hospital and has specialized in infectious diseases and specifically Chronic Fatigue syndrome that he believes and has proven that is caused from specific viruses that can be identified and treated with anti- viral medications depending on the virus identified. He is treating people from literally all over the world that have been suffering, many for years, from pain and fatigue that have sought treatment from many doctors that have said form the virus tom run it's course or some hearing "it is all in your head." I am starting this blog spot to share information and give each other support through your journey back to health. I am on Valcyte taking 450 mg three times a day and have gone from an energy index of 3 to 4.5 in 5 months. Google Dr. Martin Lerner to begin learning! I Want to hear from you!
